Buju Banton Convicted On Cocaine Charges!

After a long battle with the law, Grammy winer Buju Banton was convicted of charges relating to his attempt to buy $135,000 worth of cocaine. He was arrested in December 2009 after attempting to purchase the drug from an undercover Drug Enforcement Administration agent in Miami.
Banton had been jailed since then but was released on house arrest in November. He was convicted on three charges and acquitted of one. A jury in September had previously been deadlocked. He could face life in prison at his sentencing date, which has not yet been set.
