Vybz Kartel still behind bars!

Apparently Vybz Kartel is not going to be released from lock-up until late July. The entertainer was named recently as a “person of interest” by the St Catherine South police, he has been with them for several days. Kartel was booked to appear on Reggae Sumfest later this month as well as other shows across Jamaica and the Caribbean. This might mean he will not be able perform if he is not released. The entertainer was served papers informing of his further detention, the legal team would be seeking the entertainer’s release at the Emergency Powers Review Tribunal set up in the wake of the calling on May 23 of a State of Public Emergency to combat criminals loyal to accused drug lord and former Tivoli Gardens strongman Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke.
Kartel underwent intense questioning after turning himself to the Greater Portmore Police Station, some three days after the police named him and five other men as major persons of interest.
